Information design is the skill and practice of preparing information so people can use it with efficiency and effectiveness. Below is a list of 7 excellent examples of Information Design / Infographics which I have amassed from across the web.
Time Life Book
The designer, Jihad Lanham, does an excellent job with gathering all the information and organizing it into an effective and well-defined manner. The use of grid formatting, color, and effective typography really pull the work together.
Save as / Google
This beautiful display of information design stresses color as a defining factor in visualizing the vast amount of information presented.
The Most Popular Names
A wonderful circular design, showing the most famous names in 26 European countries, and the names they share in common.
Bus Ride
A very colorful set of graphics to visualize a bus route. The project is very detailed and displays the information neatly and well defined.
Digital Nostalgia
“A set of information graphics which examines the technological changes in our lifetimes and the influences they have had on our lives.” The graphics do an excellent job at keeping the viewer interested by representing the data in rich and unique ways.
Apple Product Timeline
Very cool looking visualization of Apple’s product sales. The colors are great and the drop shadows add a bit of dimensionality to the design.
Wine System Map
A very interesting way to present the information, but none-the-less a very creative design.
