Finally! A summer vacation! Woo! 10 Days long and going strong!
So I just finished my pre-calculus final exam today, which I happened to kick some serious ass on. I now have a whole 10 days before fall classes start at RPI. How do I feel after a summer full of hard mental work? Exhausted and burnt out to say the least. I really wish I could spend the next month relaxing and letting my brain idle at 5% work load.
What are my plans for the next 10 days?
- Travel to Plattsburgh until Tuesday or Wednesday
- Visit family and friends
- Fix oxygen sensor on my car
- Go swimming in the lake
- Do a little fishing
- Consume enough alcohol until I mercifully lapse into a stupefied coma
Okay, maybe not the last one (*goes back to scratch that off*). I’m just excited that I’ll be able to spend time outside and be homework free… even if it is only for 10 days.
I move into my dorm at RPI on the 23rd. I’ve been assigned a double on the second floor of an upper-class residency hall. The dorm room is 230 sq. ft., and “Each room has a private bath and is divided by a wardrobe into semi-private living areas… The first floor has a well-equipped kitchen and lounge.” cool… better than living in a 188 sq. ft. freshmen dorm. I’m actually really excited to see my room, meet my roommate and hopefully find las sexy chicas.
Ebay
In other news, I’m selling a bunch of clothes on ebay which I don’t wear anymore (I really need to downsize before I go to college). I’m totaled @ $194.30 with 1 day 08 hours remaining. Have a look.
I took a long nap around 3:30pm today. I laid on my bed and dozed off. My deam(s) are as follows:
I’m hanging out in a familiar and comfortable house with my brother, though it was nowhere I had ever been. We’re just hanging out conversing. I look out the window to see the mysterious neighbor use a secret door to leave his/her house.
Now the scene changes quickly and all the sudden I’m driving down the highway, weaving in and out of traffic while traveling the speed-limit. In this scene I am driving with a beautiful blond haired girl, who happens to look like a girl I work with. The weather is hot and sunny – our windows are open. We’re driving, laughing, have a great time.

Tomorrow is going to be a busy day. I have transfer orientation at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) tomorrow morning. I must arrive by 9:00am to attend the seminars and whatever else they have planned for the day. It looks like the weather is going to be just great… “Few Showers” in the am followed by “Party Cloudy” weather around noon and proceeded by “Scattered Showers” in the evening. Wonderful; I bet the campus tours involve spending numerous amounts of time walking around outside… and… i plan on wearing flip-flops. The events should wrap up around 4:00pm to which I have to drive home and do my pre-calculus homework.
This weeks To Do list:
- Get the tires on my Volkswagen Jetta balanced & aligned.
- Pre-calc take-home assignment.
- Somehow make more money.
- Research into private student loans.
Fix Car: I have a slight vibration in the front drivers side of my VW MK4 Jetta while driving at highway speeds. I believe the first solution I need to try is getting the tires balanced. I noticed a weight on the back tire missing but I’m not sure if that would cause the font-end vibration. I figure I will get an alignment while I’m at the shop too. The alignment seems to be fairly good though, with only a slight pull to the right left side. Hopefully one of the two will provide a solution. The alignment and balancing should be under 100$. If that doesn’t fix it then I’ll just have to wait until I get more cash to put into the car… seeing as i just spent 100$ on a new rear bearing hub. But it’ll be interesting to see how the car does on the 50 min drive to RPI tomorrow.
Make more money: As far as this goes, I need to somehow make more money. I need to do some freelance computer tech or web design work or something. Abercrombie & Fitch isn’t quite paying the bills right now. I’ll be searching Craigslist.org for a paying gig or freelance work this week. I already have a client who wants a website built but the whole thing is still up in the air. I hope they decide to follow through with it because it would look great in my portfolio and well, I really could use the money.
But more on the rest of my life later this week. It’s late, I’m tired, goodnight.
